Tuesday

I actually had breakfast today two slices of white toasdt ( i know brown
would be better but i was short on time and brown bread takes longer to
toast)

BUT, I didnt have any butter marge or topping, just the toast.

For lunch I had a salad bowl which was very tasty and healthy.

In the day I drank one coffee, water and some orange juice.

I do not know what will be for tea.

But after the fact, now I do.

I had a Spicy Curry pot Noodle with one Ham Sandwich and a Packet of Ready Satted Walkers.

Monday

Monday

So today is the day, the start of my new regime. After a weekend of frankly
awful food I was looking forward to some healthier options.

Although, I intended to have breakfast to get my metabolism going I was out
of time so could not.

Instead I bought myself a pint of fresh OJ and a normal coffee (skimmed
milk 1 sugar) for the morning hours.

I am not actually an early eater so I wasn’t one fro craving in the morning
however, I was hungry by midday and had an okay Sweet and Sour chicken leg
and rice. I am not a big fan of meat on the bone but this one was quite
meaty with only the one bone present so I survived.

During the day I drank mostly water and had a can of OJ in the afternoon.

In the evening I had Chilli and Rice with 3 Bits of Wrappy type bread
thingies.  The rice was Microwave rice which I bought prior to remembering
we dont have a microwave, never fear 3 minutes in baoiling water and i was
away.

For drinks I had a litre of orange squash throught the night.

All in all not bad, no excess and barring fat content in the chilli (stagg
tinned) a fairly healthy day.

Sign of our times.

With society as it is today, it is ever cheaper to get large quantities of food whatever your flavour.

The ridiculous thing about this is a restaurant will offer a small, medium or large option but the disparity of pricing between the three often steers the consumer to plump for the larger option.  Let me explain.

In Ikea there are Meatballs for sale at their restaurant (meant in the loosest way possible I would add), I dont know the exact prices but will use similar ones for my example.

10 meatballs will cost say £3.00, 15 meatballs will cost £3.80 and 20 meatballs costs £4.00.

WHAT !!  At 10 balls its 30 p a ball, at 15 its 25 p and at 20 it is 20 p.

No consumer is going to pass up the better value offer of 20 for 4 quid !!

And most other food outlets have a similar policy,

Of course no one is forced to buy the larger portion but on a cost/food ratio it represents the best value.

I admit I used to fall into this trap, why have a medium when  a large will do. usually I felt podged after devouring the meal often thinking that was just too much but repeated the scenario again and again.

It has to stop, for me at least.

Apart from my Kebab trial this morning, I have resolved to go for a medium or small option in future.

So no more extra value meals, going large or super size. No extra onion rings, sides, additions or toppings.

Its the way forward dont ya think.

And do not go to Ikea for a meal , or in fact furniture.

Introduction

I know what you were thinking, look at this donut with an incorrectly spelled blog title. How embarassing!

Well, that is where you are wrong, the title is intentional as this blog is going to be about my attempt to lose weight in the next 13 months.

I am the aforementioned “fats” and ideally by 31st December 2008, I will have lost a substantial amount of weight.

I am not into faddy diets or extreme exercise plans, I know what I need to do to lose weight I just need to now put this into practice.

I aim to present a day by day evaluation of my progress, I don’t intend to weigh myself every day as I know that that will just depress me. It does not work and is a negative indication of actual weight loss, just having a particularly good stool can throw off a whole run of statistics.

So daily weigh ins are off the menu.

Did you like that segue?

A lot of diets do exactly that, they take things off your menu, usually the fun stuff such as chocolate, alcohol or other sweets or devils food.

Now while I have in the past gone 9 months without chocolate, I do not think cutting out the treats will help in the long run.

Most diets fail because people force themeselves to eat a centimetre of toothpaste for breakfast, lettuce and a sprinkling of water dressing for lunch, with a nice filling glass of water for dinner and a radish for pudding.

That shit just aint gonna fly, and while i am on the subject , that kind of meal may even fail to produce an actual turd.

Which leads me to a further bit of information, this isn’t gonna be a dry blog , the kind of boring peice you would find in a copy ofBella.

No as the blog title and some of the text implies, hopefully it will be a funny uplifting read too, if it inspires anyone to also lose weight or just make general improvements to their life, then that is just fine and Dandy.

If anyone wants to comment, leave a comment (funny that) on the blog or e-mail me at loseweightfats@yahoo.co.uk.

I’m gonna start my efforts with effect from Monday 19th November 2007, I say that because tonight I had half a Domino’s Pizza which frankly was a coronary in a box.

And there’s the weekend…..
