Sign of our times.

With society as it is today, it is ever cheaper to get large quantities of food whatever your flavour.
The ridiculous thing about this is a restaurant will offer a small, medium or large option but the disparity of pricing between the three often steers the consumer to plump for the larger option. Let me explain.
In Ikea there are Meatballs for sale at their restaurant (meant in the loosest way possible I would add), I dont know the exact prices but will use similar ones for my example.
10 meatballs will cost say £3.00, 15 meatballs will cost £3.80 and 20 meatballs costs £4.00.
WHAT !! At 10 balls its 30 p a ball, at 15 its 25 p and at 20 it is 20 p.
No consumer is going to pass up the better value offer of 20 for 4 quid !!
And most other food outlets have a similar policy,
Of course no one is forced to buy the larger portion but on a cost/food ratio it represents the best value.
I admit I used to fall into this trap, why have a medium when a large will do. usually I felt podged after devouring the meal often thinking that was just too much but repeated the scenario again and again.
It has to stop, for me at least.
Apart from my Kebab trial this morning, I have resolved to go for a medium or small option in future.
So no more extra value meals, going large or super size. No extra onion rings, sides, additions or toppings.
Its the way forward dont ya think.
And do not go to Ikea for a meal , or in fact furniture.
